FAQs
What are the bylaws of our community?
The bylaws and other pertinent documents can be downloaded from the Documents page.
When are dues due and how should I pay?
The HOA dues are $35 per month and are payable to the Tyrone Community Association. Various payment options are available - mail a check or money order, use a credit card, ACH. You can log in to your by clicking "Owner Login" above to view your balance and make online payments. If you cannot log in, it's because we do not have your email address. Contact the TCA Board to add your email or if you have any questions.
What do my dues pay for?
Your dues are used to pay for trash pickup, streetlights, the Community Center utilities, common area maintenance, keeping the washes clear, general office expenses, insurance, and to build reserves for future improvements and emergencies.
Based on recent events, the TCA is "running on a shoestring" and many things that used to be paid for via assessments (i.e. administrative assistant/management positions, etc) now require quite a bit of volunteer help to get done. When we split with TWWA, they took two thirds of the assessments due to the major issues faced with our infrastructure. However, that doesn't leave us much to run things on, yet no one wants to pay more. So there we are. The intention is to keep dues low, costs down, and rebuild our reserves so that we can flourish once again. A copy of the TCA current year budget and account balance reports are available under Financials.

Who should I contact if I spot a non-working streetlight?
The streetlights are maintained by PNM, so please notify them directly by filling out their form at https://www.pnm.com/streetlights. However, we would also like to keep track and stay on PNM to get them fixed, so you should also drop a note to the Board via email or through the contact us page.
Who do I complain to about the potholes?
Grant County maintains our roads. You may contact them directly (Main county phone number is 575-574-0000) or leave us a note on the Contact page. Our Townsite Liaison maintains a list of the current potholes that need to be addressed and is in contact with Grant County on a regular basis to encourage them to get it done.
How do I report nuisance dogs?
Tyrone must follow Grant County ordinances and as such, dogs are not allowed to roam free, must be licensed and tagged, and should not be a "nuisance" (excessive barking falls under the nuisance category). Please report animal issues to the county non-emergency dispatch at (575) 388-8840.

A copy of the current rules is on this site under "Documents". Remember, these are not the rules of the Board, but were created and approved by your neighbors. The rules can be changed if the property owners of Tyrone want them changed. That does require approval at a Membership meeting. Reach out with any questions.
